Being left on the shelf very much applies to china tea sets. Some sets don’t even get that dignity and can be found in lofts, buried in boxes or completely discarded once parts get broken.

As I began collecting sets, I marvelled at the beauty of them, how carefully they had been made and how much they would have been enjoyed by previous generations. I reminisced about having tea at my granny’s house where the sets were brought out and it felt so much more special drinking out of such fine cups.

It seems such a shame that these sets, which once had proud owners and were used regularly, had succumbed to simply gathering dust. Life got too busy and minimalist to get the china out.

I decided to set up Pretty Dishy in order to do a tea set revival, bring back the nostalgia and sense of occasion and to just let people enjoy them as much as they did in the past. I have however decided to keep this revival modern and fresh and bring the table to life with beautiful modern table runners, napkins, cutlery, candlesticks, vases and dried flowers.

I have always loved the “getting ready” stage of a party just as much as the party itself and a big part of that is making the table look beautiful.  I hope by offering packages people can be assured that whatever their event, they will immediately be able to create the wow factor and get everyone in the party spirit.
